I love writing.

Maybe I’m addicted, but I really love writing books. I love it more than art and I love art an awful lot. For me nothing is as challenging, relaxing, hard and fun as writing novels. Its not just the craft, but the stories themselves I love. I don’t do outlines and I seldom know what’s coming next. I make it up as I go and I let the story and characters surprise me. It’s like I’m reading a book but a book written just for me. I love the stories and I love the characters. Sometimes I think of the characters as friends and when I finish a book its almost like I’m saying goodbye. I sometimes miss characters and will go back and read what I’ve written. Crazy? Yeah, probably. But for me, my characters aren’t disposable. I’m going to get back to writing in “Shattered Lands” because I can’t wait to see what happens next.
